Health literacy is defined by the World Health Organisation “as the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to gain access to, understand and use information in ways which promote and maintain good health” (2020). This goes beyond the concept of health education and encourages individuals and communities to take action towards their own health and wellbeing. To complete this task, you are required to select one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) you discussed in relation to an identified country in Assessment 2. 1. You will develop a health literacy plan discussing the relevance of the SDG to primary healthcare, the need for developing the health literacy of interdisciplinary team members on the SDG then select a specific group of interdisciplinary team members (these may be nurses but can also be other health care teams, and/or non-health science teams) for a deliverable to improve their health literacy. The health literacy plan and deliverable relate to the Sustainable Development Goal discussed in Assessment
