Working in groups, do additional research on the impact of the Internet and social media on adolescents. First, go online to identify a selection of scholarly articles reporting the results of studies conducted by psychologists or social science researchers. You may want to focus your efforts on a single topic, like Internet addiction, or the effect of Internet use on friendship, peer pressure, stress, depression, or sexual attitudes. After sampling a few of the most promising of these studies, share their conclusions with your group members. Later in class, debate whether the Internet should be viewed as a useful tool or as a source of serious problems for most teens.
