Description
Students will self-select 3 weekly topics (not including the topic of their reflective essay) and will critically engage with and reflect upon those topics. The 3 topics can either be addressed separately or can be brought together under a theme. For example law, education and health may come under a ‘closing the gap’ theme, or Performance Art, land and country, and Who are Indigenous Australia?, may come under an Identity theme. Any other theme as identified by the student may be used.
In the conclusion of the analysis students must draw their findings from all 3 topic areas (or main themes) together. Students are also required to reflect on whether this task has made them more aware of Indigenous Australian peoples and Indigenous Australian affairs. Students should include reflections from their journals to assist in the completion of this task.
The 1700 word paper is to be written in an essay style with a minimum of 7 scholarly references. There needs to be an inclusion of Indigenous voices/perspectives.
