Topic: Comment on the dynamic of intentional youth ministry as it relates to creating synergy. What are some problems that you have seen in youth ministries because of a lack of strategy? What are some “wins” that you have seen in youth ministry because strategizing was utilized to plan the event, program or outreach? Briefly discuss the importance of “synergy” as it relates to intentionally integrating strategies to ministry and how it can positively or negatively affect them. I used to think I was pretty organized and strategic as a youth pastor, but while I would make sure all the details of an event or program were covered, that does not mean I was very strategic. And the word “synergy” rarely entered into my thinking. As long as what I was planning did not conflict with anything else on the calendar, I was satisfied. Our discussion this week forces us to think through our approach to planning and who else is involved in this process with us. Make sure you listen to, read and refer to our course materials in your posts. I look forward to hearing from you about this important topic.
