One could say that all of these artists had a spiritual intent, although the effects of their music may have been different. Read the article “The Shakuhachi As SpiritualTool”, then write an essay that address the transformation of a traditional music and its continued ability to evoke a spiritual response. Your paper can address any ONE of a variety of stances…is traditional music more effective, or not? Should a tradition change or stay them same? Or something else…Use examples from the videos and readings for the week (or from earlier in the course) to support your argument.
