Using the same disease you presented in DQ1, provide 3 images of real tissue or cells and a 300 word summary illustrating the dysfunction of the disease on a histologic leer’ The style sheNI Ild resemble that of a journal article.
Provide numbers and captions for each image and refer to the images within your summary in the style of an article or textbook, e.g. – “(See Fig. 1)” See the Discussior Board for an example DQ2 answer and instructions on inserting images directly into the discussion post. You are urged to include gross images, electron micrographs and cytology, but a minimum of two histology images (or blood smear if a blood disease) must be provided. This allows you to contras normal vs. abnormal. Images of patient presentations, medical devices and interventions, and illustrative diagrams and charts are encouraged. Your separate summai should include:
• 1) Describe the normal cells and cellular architecture (tissue) of the main body organs affected by the disease. Refer to at least one of your images: e.g. – ” (See Fig. 1)” but do not copy and paste the caption here. • 2) Describe the cells, changes in cellular architecture (tissue), or substances involved in the pathophysiology of the disease. Refer to at least one of your images. • 3) Provide a succinct description of the pathophysiology underlying this disease process. Relate the dysfunction on the cellular level to the pathologic process. Now is the time to bring in the full picture of the disease. (*hint: outline the normal physiology and focus on the deviations to that process that result in the symptoms and findings that occur in this disease.) Include how the cells and tissue seen (or not seen) impact the health, viability, or function of the tissue, organ and/or system. • 4) Predict how the cells/tissue might change as a result of various treatments or what might happen if the pathologic process is left untreated. • 5) Provide a starting point for the discussion by describing any controversies or new advances. You may wish to create specific questions to pose to your colleagues, include your own opinions, and/or provide a real-life example. • *Include an APA-formatted reference list and in-text citations.
