This is not the same thing as your drug policy paper. You will be using information from websites, your book(s), and/or PPT slides. By the end of this paper, you should have a clearer grasp the effects of drug laws and policies (e.g. mandatory minimums).
Instructions:
Research the drug laws of two states of your choice from different regions of the country. Use the attached map as a guide for selecting your states.
You can focus on drug distribution, drug possession, or laws for specific drugs (e.g. crack vs. powder cocaine, marijuana). It’s your choice. The goal is simply to examine differences. Conduct a Google search to find out about drug laws in each state.

Reflection Questions:
- Are there differences in the drug laws for each state? If yes, what may explain such differences (region of the country, population of the state,)?
- How does these drug laws relate to the prison population in each state?
- In what specific ways does the info you found relate to the info from the class (books, notes, documentaries)?
- Conclude your paper with recommended law/policy
