The purpose of this assignment is to both identify questionable communications as well as to practice writing to our colleagues (horizontal). Assumptions can be made you will be writing to professionals on your same level in your organization. Similar knowledge, similar experiences, similar understanding. You are composing a piece for their information and review.
1. Identify a questionable communication.
a. Newspaper article, social media, advertisement, radio ad, report, etc.
2. Write up (not more than a page) on what makes it a questionable piece of communication.
a. Address why you think it is questionable (unethical, illegal, misleading, etc.)
-Describe in detail how you found it, what caught your attention, specifics.
b. Bring/Upload your written horizontal communication assignment to class (be sure to insert or include your example, a copy or a screen shot)- if audio, describe (date, time, source). REMINDER- you are writing this up to share with your COLLEAGUES (horizontal).
3. You will receive feedback on your horizontal communication assignment.
