Mobile computing is critical for the success of an organization in today’s world because everything is online and customers spend almost all day online now a day so if they do not have mobile computing they will not be as successful as a company who does. Snapchat is the third most powerful social networking website in the world with young adults and teenagers. “Snapchat is now the third most popular social app among millennials, with a 32.9% penetration on the demographic’s mobile phones, trailing only Instagram (43.1%) and Facebook (75.6%). ” Snapchat is not just for personal use many companies now are using snapchat to promote their products and get people to look them up and see what they are all about. I chose Best Buy as a platform for online growth and how it has helped saved the company from the same failure as many that have fallen to Amazon. Every single quarter Best Buy is posting growth for the last 4 years. Whereas most brick and mortar are reporting losses. How could that be? After looking at their earnings it is quite simple they are dominating the online marketplace. Although they sell the same products as say Amazon. Their online growth is exploding and this is due to a dedicated team that is focused on growing online. They have recreated their entire website and search algorithm to ensure it is simple and quick for everyone to find what they are looking for fast while also showing reviews and comparisons to ensure customers get what they want the first time. Without this refocus in online growth they would have fallen like most others including Circuit City.
