Most social work students prefer micro practice – no surprise there. But most also steer clear of anything with a whiff of research to it, and that ought to be surprising. It may be that it is becoming more surprising as you read your text and work on the assignments, though. Is it? Are you beginning to see that maybe the “gut level” of “sure! that ought to work!” may not be enough – particularly when the research is out there?
