For some reason, the consensus is not as clear-cut on the legality of this behavior. Users compare downloading music to lending a CD to a friend. Producers and artists consider it theft. Using a search engine, identify at least two Web sites that facilitate music downloads. Review their policy, legal statements, and agreements. Who is liable if the sharing done on their site is found to be illegal? Are there any fees to subscribe to or use the site? In what country is the site being hosted? Attempt to locate statistics on the number of music downloads and the loss of revenue to the music and related industries related to downloading music files. In a PowerPoint presentation, review your findings for these and other related issues that you come across in your research. Suggest any viable solutions that you see as a compromise to this ongoing controversy. Remember to cite your references.
