Paper 2: Financing and Organizations in Your Profession

Spring 2020

Requirements:

1. Title page: title of paper, author, course, date.

2. Word count 1500 words minimum (2000 max).

3. Single-spaced (standard 11pt font) with page numbers.

4. Organization for a formal academic essay includes an intro/thesis, body, and a conclusion.

5. This is formal writing: DO NOT use first person (“I”) language.

6. Submission: DO upload a separate .doc or .pdf file for your assignment.

7. Review the rubric for grading criteria.

8. References required. APA citation style required. (References not included in word count.)

Paper 2

Writing Prompt: 

1) Explain how services (provided by your profession- Pharmacy) are financed (who pays/ decides how much), and include in your explanation a focus on 1 (or 2) organizations that are closely involved in such financing decisions.

2) Describe both opportunities and barriers reflected in the current financing structure reflected at the individual (patient/provider), organizational (hospital/clinic/company), and societal (norms/policy/laws) levels using examples (your profession-specific related examples.) Demonstrate professional credibility by using citations for your chosen examples.

3) Predict what factors in the health care system must change, in order for the previously described barriers to be reduced and opportunities to be achieved.
