UNIT SIX INTRODUCTION
This week’s assignment is focused on completing your Exegesis on Jn. 10:11-18. Numerous resources have been introduced, studied, and now referenced for the fine product of research you are going to complete. The lecture for this unit of study, “Pastoral Vision,” will complement your final efforts in this exercise. A consultation with your mentoring pastor would be helpful toward putting the finishing touches on the project – perhaps have him read your final draft and offer his opinion.
This work is more than a writing exercise – it is a prayer, a pursuit, a quest for discernment of truth and adaptation of calling to the pristine nature of pastoral ministry as revealed in Scripture and anointed of the Holy Spirit. The “heart and soul” you put into this study may well adjust the future course of your life in a powerful and positive way.

5. Write your Exegesis on Jn. 10:11-18, making sure it follows the guidelines provided.
6. Submit Exegesis as a Word document.
Words from the teacher for the students: For the exegesis paper, make sure
to take a look at the PDF guideline and the example of an exegesis paper on
the home page. The paper should be done on John 10 as stated. One purpose
is to identify what it means to be a “shepherd” in light of scripture.
***Also, I highly recommend doing some internet research on how to write an
exegetical paper, and make sure to research how to write a proper thesis
statement. There are online generators and apps that can be purchased for
Mac and from the play store. Make use of every tool out there that can help
you. Also, there are multitudes of examples and information online that
demonstrates how to create proper outlines, paragraphs, papers, and so on.
As a student, spend some time learning how to build papers. Learning this
process will be invaluable to you.
Check out Zotero. It is a free citation and bibliography builder. I cannot
stress the benefits of this program enough. It will save you a great deal
of heartache.
