Provide a written critique of an economic evaluation considering its approaches, methods, results and presentation
• Consider also the quality of clinical evidence used to inform the model
The essay question is comprised of two components.
The first component asks for a systematic evaluation of the paper in the attachment (the PDF file). The Drummond check list can be used to evaluate the economic evaluation you have selected to review. There are other checklists that can be used to evaluate the input data. For example, the CONSORT checklist is used to evaluate random controlled trials and the STROBE checklist is used to evaluate observation studies.
The second component of the essay asks you to explain the relevance of the paper you selected for review, to the Australian context. You will need to consider the broader literature review and explain (i) what contribution your paper does (or does not) make to the literature and (ii) how relevant you believe its findings are to policymakers who operate in the Australian health care system.
