Of course these are general guidelines you are more than welcome to contribute more:
1) Data for at least 40 to 50 countries, yearly data from 1990-2015.
check for more help the following link:
http://down.aefweb.net/AefArticles/aef040202.pdf
2) Data sources: OECD, World Bank, IMF (you need to register); make sure you minimize the gaps in the data
3) Format of excel file as discussed in the meeting
4) All the data should be on the same unit (namely rates)
5) ADF, Descriptive Statistics, Graphs
6) Run the models (whole sample of countries, developed, developing) without or with fixed or random effects; check the Applied Econometrics by Asteriou chapter 20 or Introductory Econometrics for Finance by Brooks. Finally from the following link

7) You could include a dummy variable (0 before the event, 1 after the event)
8) Interpret the results
scenarios:
1) All the coefficients should be less than 1
2) All the results should be according to the literature
3) If the results are not good try to include the first lag for each variable (eliminate from the model the insignificant coefficients.
4) Try to transform the data into logarithms
