Small states are known to receive better representation within the electoral college. Understanding popular voting, would allow the power to the big populated states almost entirely. If the presidential election was based upon popular vote, everyone would have an equal chance to express their vote whether they live in a small state or not, and it would not change their voting power and it would not hurt the small states. The Electoral College today is outdated. The public owes it to themselves to become informed and let their votes make a difference, and replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote is the best way to do so. Comment as you see fit.
