- The most recent sustainability report is ‘Air France-KLM takes care Sustainability Report 2018’.
- I have uploaded the spreadsheet that contains all the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) metrics for my company, in relation to the sustainability report
- Compare sustainability report 2018/Annual registration document/Communication of Progress. Very Important
- When reporting the GRI metrics, they are broken up into 3 scopes: scope 1 (greenhouse gas emissions), scope 2 & scope 3.
- Focus on UN Global Compact Goals and STGs
- I need these “Buzz” words used thought out when necessary – Materiality (relevance on why people report (GRI)), Green washing, Blue washing. The first one is particularly important so please refer when possible,
- Break the report up into sections throughout such as 2.1UNGC 2.2 STG 2.3 Comparison 2.4 GRI metrics etc.
- MUST focus on the companies CSR, Values and ethics. (Very important) compare with competitors
- Report on the reporting style
- benchmark with previous sustainability report
Critical Analysis:
Example
Air France – KLM say they are committed to the UN Global compact Goals and the STGs. However, the research has shown that the company have only reported on 6 out of the 63 GRI metrics. This could be an example of greenwashing. However, the research has shown this may due to the STGs only being implemented 3 years previous before this report was released so it may take time before they implement significant change. (feel free to use if necessary)
Another example, Air France – KLM has only reported on 1 scope, this is concerning due to….
