Assessment 3 – Case Study
The following task must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the management and leadership field of work and include access to:
- Relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes
- Workplace documents including business strategic plans, policies and procedures
- Case studies and, where possible, real situations
- Interaction with others.
For this task you are to complete the following tasks to demonstrate your ability to develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships.
Task
- Imagine that your organisation has developed a partnership program involving a joint venture for research of a technological product. You meet with the other company and develop a partnership agreement. Write a partnership agreement that outlines all the relevant issues that you need to consider in this joint venture including answering the following questions:

- Establish outcomes to be achieved from the partnership.
- Explain how you will conduct ongoing consultation with your partner company.
- Describe the communication solutions you will adopt to engage with your partner company.
- Now meet with your trainer and perform a role-play where your trainer is the representative of the other partner company. Communicate the partnership agreement to your trainer and demonstrate the following:
- How you will generate trust, confidence and support from the partner company by demonstrating a high standard of personal performance and conduct.
- Explain how you will make decisions in consultation with the partner company.
- Demonstrate a range of influencing strategies to increase commitment from the partner company to achieve organisational requirements and contribute to desired culture.
- Your organisation has decided to launch a media campaign advertising the new joint venture. Write a press release to make this announcement.
- Your organisation would like to engage in joint ventures with other companies. Write a report outlining how you will lead the establishment of positive collaborative relationships within your company. In this report outline the following:

- How you will establish processes that contribute to a positive culture within your organisation that embrace collaboration
- What processes will you put in place to resolve conflict?
- How will you organise and allocate work activities?
- Methods to encourage staff to undertake personal competence and performance improvement activities
- Approaches to empowering staff to develop their own ways of working
- Indicators and feedback process to be used to evaluate the health of the work environment
- In order to establish further partnership programs your organisation will require the development of a partnership plan. Develop a partnership program plan that:

- Contains the relevant organisation policies and procedures, including those relating to partnerships.
- Identifies and incorporates the relevant legal requirements into the plan.
- Identifies the type of private/public partnership the organisation would like to engage in.
- Allocates the resource requirements to accomplish the partnership plan.
- Describes the systems for reporting the results of the partnership program against the planned partnership outcomes.
