Note: Throughout the course you will be using Practice Labs for hands-on experience. Before beginning the Practice Labs module, please review the following:
- The Lab Diagram of the hardware you will use in this module uses a naming convention, a common practice in IT. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the naming convention to keep track of the hardware you are using. Here is a breakdown of the naming convention:
- PLAB – Practice Labs
- DC – Domain Controller
- GW – Gateway (this is a server acting as a gateway to the Internet)
- WIN7 – Windows 7
- Exercise 1 provides a suggestion for you to better understand the technology by referring to course materials. Some students have been confused by the statement. The readings and videos provided to you this week are all you need to complete the lab. You do not need to do extra research.
- In this module, you will look at the Wireshark tool and learn how to capture network traffic.
Complete the module “Understand Network Protocols – HTTP, HTTPS, NetBIOS, TCP, and UDP” in the Practice Labs course “N10-006 CompTIA Network+.”
Capture screenshots after completing each Wireshark capture. Paste screenshots in a Word document.
