• Demonstrate critical ability in tackling the question chosen
• Demonstrate consideration of relevant psychological theory and research
• Use of relevant and up to date psychological literature, especially from journals
• Appropriate structure to the essay
• Should be properly and comprehensively referenced
• As far as possible provide an answer to the question posed
• Adhere to word limit of 2000 words
