General guidance
In descriptive sections use an appropriate technical style of English, as though presenting to a non-technical client and check all spelling and punctuation. Aim to provide a commentary on what you have designed, rather than simply supplying calculations, schedules and drawings.
This assignment covers quite a large range of work, but your submission should be of a manageable size (suggested length, no more than 2500 words). Whilst a strict word limit is not imposed (since much of your submission will consist of drawings, tables and calculations.) You should nevertheless aim for brevity in descriptive sections but achieve the transmission of your technical points like a quality check in a design review and avoid unnecessary “padding”, e.g. pages full of calculations or copies of manufacturers’ literature.
