On July 20, 2012 around 12:30 am, a mass shooting occurred inside a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado. It was during the premiere of the movie Batman: The Dark Knight Rise. Tear gas grenades as well as firearms were used, killing 12 people and injuring 70. The gunman, James Holmes was taken into custody right after. This was the worst shooting in Colorado since 1999.
The screenings that were meant to follow got delayed due to the trauma the incident caused and people all over the United States were affected.
