termpaper which also includes South Korea and its competition policy and compare this directly with the Japanese competition authority. In the initial paper, I wanted to compare Rakuten and Amazon and how the public watchdog tries to control their specific market misbehaviour (mergers, abuse of dominance, cartelization, E-commerce,etc.). However, the new paper should include a new structure, in which Japan and South Korea have to be set in comparison with each other regarding antitrust policy measures within the whole internet service sector (I think its better, only two companies was hard to find any reliable data). The important thing is that a whole structure (Table of Contents, Content, Bibliography) is existing, but it has to be rewritten to integrate South Korea. The methodological framework is based on the Chicago School of Antitrust Analysis and the RQ to answer might be how does this School play a role in contemporary antitrust cases of the online service industry.
Concerning the sources, a lot of papers and works about Chicago School have been listed already in the bibliography, however, not so much has been found about Japan and South Korea. As to JP, only information about the two online retailers Rakuten and Amazon have been included. In this termpaper, South Korea and Japan must be related by reference to measurable factors, all by reference to the original Chicago School of Antitrust. However, it is important that it should not be a legal work, but that it should bring two economic systems together in direct comparison using the example of the online service industry.(competition/antitrust policies)
The skeleton is there, however, I appreciate your ideas how to get a comparative termpaper done, also in rewriting the research question or changing the structure as a whole.
Thank you very much for your help!
P.S. I only will sent you my first draft and the guidelines for my programme so far. However, I have collected a lot of literature about the Chicago School, so do not hesitate to contact me, if you might need them.
