Order instructions 

Choose two readings: one may be from Module 1 (see attachment), but at least one should be from Week 2. One must be a myth, legend or first- person testimony. The other must be either poetry or fiction. (If you choose one of the longer texts, you may focus on one character or scene.) Choose a theme or idea from the first two modules, either something stated explicitly in the course (first contact, displacement, etc.) or a theme you have discovered on your own. Compare and contrast the ways in which each of your chosen works expresses or explores that theme. Use specific examples from the texts. This paper should explain connections between story and current belief anddemonstrate an understanding of the complexities of Native American experience.
