I have wondered how much of their behaviors and cognitive functioning can be attributed to their mental illnesses and medical conditions such as diabetes. Based on preliminary research, it seems that it is not feasible to completely disentangle the averse effects of mental illnesses and diabetes on cognitive functions and behaviors in older adults. However, I am still interested in how they interact with each other, therefore, this is going to be the focus of this paper.
