a. Each of the pioneers advocated teaching practices that empower children to be active, involved learners. Observe a classroom in which such teaching is in practice. What kind of guidance practices do you see in use? Relate specifics to your observation to the words of one of the pioneers from the chapter. Which pioneer did you choose? Why?
b. Interview an early childhood teacher or college professor who has studied the work of Froebel, Montessori, Dewey, or Piaget. What does the person believe to be significant about how the pioneer educator thought about discipline issues? Relate comments from the interview to the words of the identified pioneer from the chapter.
