Laboratory sessions will be held in the Pharmacology e-Learning Suites 2 and 3 (Rooms G.17
Green and G.15 Red) and in the Pharmacology Experimental Laboratory (Room G.28) at the QEII
Medical Centre campus. To ensure sufficient time for any safety protocols and to complete
laboratory tasks, please arrive at least 15 minutes before scheduled start times. You will
require appropriate footwear (no sandals, thongs or bare feet) for all laboratory sessions. Eating,
drinking and the use of mobile phones are not permitted in laboratories. Laboratory coats are also
required for the “Pharmacological modulation of vascular tone” practical. For safety reasons,
students who do not comply with these directives will be excluded from the laboratory. Note that
this laboratory uses animals for provision of tissues for in vitro use. It is a privilege to use animals
and there is strict regulation of use of animals for teaching purposes. If you feel that the use of
animals will be distasteful to you, please discuss the matter with the Unit Co-ordinator before
commencing the unit.
