3. Economics of policing (2) Review learning resources from week 1-4 with your chosen topic in mind:

– Required and recommended readings  (3) Identify critical factors and important issues relating to your chosen topic in these learning resources such as:

– Why are police organisations concerned with human rights, intelligence-led practices or the costs of policing?

– What does the research (required and recommended readings) say about human rights, intelligence-led practices or the costs of policing?

(4) Choose an Australian police service website (other than New South Wales) including if available:

– Annual reports

– Mission statements

– Business/Operational plans

– Management plans

– Reports on review of policing

(5) Critically discuss:

– How the police service engages with the chosen global issue (do they even mention it?)

– The priority they give to the chosen global issues (have they assigned resources to managing it? Is it included in action plans? Is it discussed in any of their reviews of policing?)

(6) Compare and contrast the police organisation\’s approaches to the chosen global issue with those presented in the recommended assessment readings and online learning resources
