If yes, please state how you are going obtain it?
Why have you chosen the topic?
Everyone experiences loss at one time or another in their life and reflecting on my own personal experience of loss during the time of Covid 19 sparked my interest in how adolescents have managed. While the Covid 19 is recent and new to us all, I will review literature relating to loss, vulnerability and isolation.
How is the argument relevant to counselling & psychotherapy?
AS Counsellors and psychotherapist, addressing grief / loss is a common part of the job. We have lived through a time of a pandemic which we have never experienced before. The human race has been forced into isolation and left to feel vulnerable and uncertain.
What gaps will the work fill in the current body of literature?
There is little known as to how children and teenagers process grief. This is still currently been researched. There is a possibility that adolescents may be missed diagnosed as their behaviours may be outside of the norm. Adolescents have had to rely on technology to maintain contact with peers, but they may not share everything such as a loss. In a time before the pandemic, friends would have been able to attend the service and support each other through the loss. Due to time constraints it will not be possible to research every piece of literature.
Outline the plan of the Dissertation.
What reading/research will you use to support the argument?
