ABC University (ABCU) is a multi-campus university in Australia. The Pro Vice Chancellor (Teaching
and Learning) of ABCU, Professor Ian Smith, has successfully built a business case for the
implementation of a completely autonomous student online enrolment system. This proposed
online enrolment system aims to improve business efficiency and to reduce and eliminate human
errors made in the process of student enrolment. The University Council has already given the green
light for this project to go ahead. A project charter has been completed, and Professor Smith was
assigned as the Project Manager for this project.
However, Professor Smith has left this project due to personal reasons and will not be returning to
work for another four weeks. In the interim, you (as a group) have been assigned to take over this
project and to take up the role of project manager. Professor Smith has made some progress
towards planning this project including a draft Work Breakdown Structure, and has requested you to
complete a number of tasks before he returns.
