In order to minimize the risk of fraud within his business, George has asked you to do some research on employee fraud in Australia. He has asked you to find an article relating to employee fraud in an Australian business and prepare a report addressing the following: (1750 words)

1. Provide an overview of your employee fraud article. This will provide the context and background for your report. (2 marks)
2. Identify and discuss the actual and potential internal control weaknesses which allowed the fraud to occur. (5 marks)
3. Recommend relevant internal controls which could be implemented into George’s business to minimise the risks associated with the weaknesses you have identified. (5 marks)
4. Prepare a one-page extract of the procedures manual which could be implemented by George to minimize the risk of this type of fraud occurring within his business. Your procedures should include at least three (3) of the internal controls you have identified above. (5 marks)
