What do you get when you mix a messy murder, beautiful and well known women, and alleged international prejudice? You get the cash cow of true crime stories. This is blatant in the case of Amanda Knox, a convoluted case that is still fresh in the minds of the public today due to all of the unique and shiny traits of the story. The long and short of the case was that Amanda Knox, a well off and pretty American studying in Italy, was accused of killing her British roommate Meredith Kercher, another rich and pretty woman in Italy. English 1020 Essay 1 – Short Story Analysis

Essay Requirements:

1. Students must choose a short story from chapters 7-14 in our textbook that was not an

assigned reading (if you are unsure which stories were assigned, check the Course Schedule

located in the Syllabus and Schedule tab in Blackboard).

2. There are two goals of the essay:

a. To analyze the short story using short story formalist elements. DO NOT
